Meet the Team: Margaret Cator - PCC Secretary / Administrator

About Me:

I organise, and attend PCC meetings, take minutes, type and distribute these to members. Keep records and complete the necessary Annual Returns after the APCM.
As Administrator I organise the parish office which deals with all administration tasks for Watton and Ashill, Carbrooke, Ovington and Saham Toney, the other parishes in the Watton Group. I work along side Gerry and other priests in the Group. The parish office is open on Tues, Wed and Thurs 9.00am – 1.00pm, where we also deal with enquiries from church members and general public.

Questions and Answers:

Q: Why do you go to church?: A: To worship God, to be spiritually nourished and to ask for His guidance for each day of my life.
Q: What do you find most important about being a church? A: The love of a church family.
Q: What would you say to someone considering attending church? A: Ask for God’s guidance, be patient, become part of God’s family.

What is your favourite bible passage and why?

John 15: 11-17 ‘You did not choose me; I chose you’
It gives a very strong message that God loves us individually and we are all given special tasks to do for Him.

My Faith and More...

As a child my God mother took me to Sunday School, so I have always felt surrounded by God’s love. As an adult I became actively involved in a church when I brought my children to Sunday School.

I believe there comes a point as an adult when you begin to have a ‘personal faith’ in Jesus.

My work and social life interact at St Mary’s with involvement in the children’s work and fund raising. I enjoy the fellowship of working with other church family members.
I also enjoy walking, new cultural experiences from travel in the UK and abroad. Spending time with my family and friends, and on my own reading and baking.
