Meet the Team: Rev'd Gerry Foster - Vicar

About Me:

As I write this, I am looking forward to moving to Watton and to the Licensing Service on 23rd February, which will mark my beginning

as vicar of the parish.

I really enjoy being with people and look forward to getting alongside those who worship, live, work and visit in the community.

I hope that the story of the church family and people in this community, which has brought us to this point in time, will provide a wonderful springboard for going forwards.  Together, we can pray for God’s vision, for this next chapter opening up……

I came into my own faith when I was 17 yrs old and have found a relationship with God the Father, Jesus the Son and the Holy Spirit to be the most important and constant part of my life.
David and I have been married for 36 years and he also came into faith when he was 17 yrs old, so this is something we have shared for a long time.  He has been ordained since 1981, but I was a nurse for the first half of my working life, specialising since the early 90’s in the field of cancer.

We are truly blessed to have a son and a daughter-in-law who live in Gloucester and a daughter and son-in-law who live in Buckinghamshire with their beautiful twin 1 yr old girls.

Favourite passage

One of my favourite bible passages I’ve chosen for the Institution and Induction Service.  It’s 2 Peter 1: 5 – 11 and speaks of qualities which we need to add to our faith for us to be effective as followers of Jesus Christ, like self-control, perseverance, kindness and love.

All of the above and keeping up with …..

old and new…….
